About Me

My name is Jason Romans, and I work with the Microsoft business intelligence stack. I currently live in Nashville, Tennessee, with my wife.

I’m also honored to be recognized as a Microsoft MVP.

My journey with computers started early—my first machine was a Commodore 64. Ever since, I’ve been hooked. Back then, I’d eagerly visit the computer shows at the fairgrounds to gather parts to build or upgrade my PC. Building my latest computer felt remarkably different; ordering parts with just a click and waiting for delivery certainly shows how times have changed.

I regularly present at data conferences, sharing my knowledge and experiences in the Microsoft BI space, and I’m continuously exploring and staying up-to-date with the latest capabilities in Microsoft Fabric. Learning and teaching have become significant aspects of my professional growth and enjoyment.

I owe so much to this community—they have helped shepherd me and shape me. They are an amazing group of people who genuinely care, and I’m grateful every day to be part of it.

I’m a big fan of theme parks and roller coasters. My wife and I try to visit Dollywood whenever possible, partly inspired by Dr SQL‘s daily photo updates on Twitter showcasing Dollywood and Disney. It’s always a cheerful highlight in my day.

On weekends, you might find me behind the camera filming church services—though admittedly, my camera work might sometimes resemble the shaky style of “Cloverfield!” Volunteering with the production team has opened my eyes to an entirely different, fascinating skill set.
